I am into Eclairs lately (thanks to Ashley!), so I bought some for dessert tonight- I think Gavin enjoyed them:) This is his picture face! When you say "SMILE GAV" this is the cheesy face that you get back! I just love it!

This weekend Kurt and I were able to escape for 2 days and head to St. George! It was so nice. Sally and Terry took Gavin for the weekend so we could go alone! I miss the alone time that Kurt and I used to have- so it was nice to be just us for the weekend:) We shopped on Saturday and met my cousin Becky and her cute little girl Halie at Cafe Rio for lunch- it was yummy! Then for dinner we met with our good friends Susie and Nelson- we miss them so much so we love when we can see them even if it is just for dinner! We ate at Samurai 21, it was very yummy! On Sunday we slept in until 9am!! It was great! We of course had to eat at In and Out- then we headed home!! It was a great weekend and we needed it! I love Kurt and I am so glad that we get to spend time with each other!

Too Cute!

I just thought this picture was so cute! Gavin absolutely loves his Dad!! I think that is why his only word so far is DAD! He loves to follow him around the house and do just what he does! He is growing up so fast I just can't believe it!

Time Flies!

Well I don't have much to post about or any cute pictures, but today marks Gavin's 18month birthday!! 18 months! I remember when we brought him home from the hospital and telling Kurt we can make it to 1 month, lets just focus on that- then at the 1 month mark I was shocked we actually got there and said we can make it to 5 months! And now here we are at 18 months!! Gavin is growing and learning so much! He is a quiet natured child! He loves to sleep, he takes at least a 3 hour nap and sleeps from 10pm to 8am. I love it! He is not saying much, I am hoping now that he is hearing better that it will change. He does know a lot however, you can tell him to go get his socks or shoes and he knows exactly what drawer they are in. He loves his dad, that is the one word he does say! Not fair- I am the one with him all day long!! He is so tall and so skinny- most people think he is 2 1/2 or more! He loves his dog Roy, or should I say he loves to torment him! They are quite the twosome! Sunday was his second try at nursery, and he stayed the entire time!! I was so happy! I stayed with him for about 15 minutes and then snuck out. The leaders said he cried for about 30 seconds and then was over it! I just hope we can do this every Sunday!

I am so glad to be a mother and so happy for the joy that Gavin is in our lives! Of course we have our bad days too, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!!

Long week

Wow, what a week it has been. We went to Pleasant Grove on Wednesday after Kurt got off work, Gavin's surgery was scheduled for 7:30 Thursday morning, so we went and stayed with my Grandma the night before. Everything about the surgery was just great! The doctor was really great, he came and talked to us before the surgery and twice after, he was very good to explain what the procedure was and ask if we had questions. They took us to a little room while we waited for him to go into surgery, there were toys and books for him to play with, he loved it! When the doctor came to take him to surgery, Gavin jumped right into his arms and left. Not one tear!! That made me a little sad- but also happy! The procedure was about 20 minutes and then he was out and awake. The IV they left in his arm bugged him the most, once it was out he was happy and ready to go home. He was tired for about 30 minutes and then ate oatmeal, chicken nuggets, a cookie and other treats. He didn't even seem like anything had happened to him. Kids are so great that way! His nights have been a little hard since we have been back, but I am sure they will get better!

Thanks Grandma for letting us crash with you for 4 days, you are so wonderful and we love you!! Thanks to all those who called to check on him! And thanks Grandpa Seals for the Jazz van, he loves it!!

On Tuesday night Kurt and I went to the Jazz game along with his parents. We had so much fun!! It is always fun when you have great seats!! They played the Timberwolves, and won! Even better:) At half time the Utes came out on the floor and...well I guess that is all they did was walk out:) They said they were the Sugar Bowl Champs, and I leaned to Kurt and said "I thought the Super Bowl was Feb 1st?" OOps, it is hard to hear there! The Jazz bear was being pretty funny, we looked over and he was walking up the hand rails. He even fell, it looked like it hurt, but of course he got back up and tried again! This time my car didn't even get broken into, so it was a great night all around!!

EARS!!!!

This post is more for me to vent about Gavin's ear problems! They are getting the better of us! Gavin is 17 months old and has had 13 ear infections, seems a bit much right??? When he was 7 months old he had already had 6, so the ENT decided he needed tubes, I was glad to finally have healthy ears! Well, that lasted a whole TWO months!! Since the tubes Gavin has had 6 infections! I took him back to the ENT that we go to and he acted like I was just being a wacko mother!! So I changed doctors and this new doctor is GREAT! He is in Payson and I really like him. He is going to put new tubes in Gavin's ears, a better kind of tube so they will hopefully last longer and he is going to also take out is Adnoids. I am so happy, most people tell me having the adnoids removed will improve his ears a ton!! Lets hope!! Yesterday, I took him to the doctor and guess what....another ear infection!!! This one is really hurting him, he is so clingy and his poor nose wont stop running!! I just want this one to clear up and then he has his surgery February 5th!! So I am hoping and praying we will be in the clear for a while after that !!!!

Last night he felt so miserable so I handed him a chocolate pudding and put him in his highchair and said have at it!! He didn't eat it at all, he just smeared it everywhere! But for 10 minutes he was happy and not sad! So it was worth it!

Apparently when it snowed, we did not spend enough time outside playing in it. Today I went to my friend Maradee's house and on our way back I let Gavin walk across the back lawn, instead of carrying him. He got to this patch of snow and put one foot on it and then backed away and starting running back the way we came. Then when I convinced him to come back, he got to the snow and looked at me and put his hands out. I had to go and pick him up! I just thought it was so funny. He knew it was something strange on the lawn!!
